Shinji looks like a 17 year old man with brown hair and deep blue eyes. he has a scar on his nose, chest and right arm.
He wears a regular shinigami outfit, though he ripped one sleeve of and weards bandage's around both of his hands.
He always has a serious look on his face.

after having lived in the human world for a while, he chose to wear clothes that dont stand out too much. He now wears a black shirt without sleeves. He also cut his hair and doesnt see any point in being serious anymore, wich can be seen on his face.

Personality: Since his defection from the sereitei, his personality changed alot. It might just have been him living close to humans, but he acted more and more human everyday he spent there.
He walks among the villagers when he isnt being lazy. Since he got his hands on a gigai, he even joined school and tried to make friends there. Though he is still interested in the simplest things, he cant get enough of the human's and their technology. he worked out alot in the gym's and is adicted to steven sigall and jet li movies.

Shinji can be very serious. There are few things sacred to him in this world, but he will do alot to defend the people of earth and his honour. He has a rather disturbing sense of humor, saying things like he'll kill/drown/hang you, then follow with "neh, im just messing with ya".
He also party's with humans at festival's and school party's.
Shinji is a man with a strong sense of duty and justice, believing strongly that those with great power should use to more noble causes than just self-satisfaction.
Though most vaizard and shinigami dont like eachother, he doesnt have any hatred towards any of them. Though he is afraid of what the shinigami think of him because he unconsciously killed multiple shinigami.

The person he likes best is hikari, that is why he spends alot of time in the inner world. Hikari is the only one who stood by him when he had a hard time becoming a shinigami. Though he can be quite demanding at times, he will always help others out, though it might take some time to do so. When helping someone, shinji wants to do things by himself, because his shikai is meant for one on one combat. He is also extremely calm, even in battle, and is very seldom surprised by even the most drastic of actions.
He is also fully aware of the limits of his abilities.

Manifestation:
It can take the form of a completely black hikari, who has a samurai like appearance and uses a katana + chain as weapons.
Though he usually appears as a black and white version of shinji, he then uses all of shinji's shikai techniques.
He has a very controlled nature and always speaks the truth, infact he is alot like shinji in most ways.

He has more then half as much reiatsu then shinji has, and his swordsmanship exceeds shinji aswell.
Though he is a great swordsman, he doesnt have the skills to control shikai as well as shinji does, giving shinji the upper hand in ability power.
Munashii also has some frightening power's that shinji himself does not have, but obtains them when wearing his mask.

Unique Ability:
Munashii Shikon: this is a technique that uses hikari's ability to use light-based attacks and munashii's vast amount of reiatsu.
He forces out all of his remaining reiatsu untill it becomes visible around his body.
Shinji then focuses solely on his sword as it becomes enveloped in a dark purple reiatsu layer.
Shinji can use this reiatsu to empower his strikes or by releasing it in a slicing motion to send a powerfull wave of reiatsu at his enemy.
The attack is powerfull enough to completely counter hadou spell up to level 70.

Shinji's mask is white with a red pattern near the mouth area.
It doesnt seem to have a mouth, but if you look closely enough, small teeth are visible.
It augments shinji's purple/blue reiatsu into a deeper, darker purple.

Shinji's zanpaktou looks just like a regular zanpaktou with a dark blue/purple hilt.

Zanpakuto Description: The zanpaktou itself doesnt have any special characteristics other then the shiny blade wich leans to the swords name. The shining blade has color's that shift between bright blue and dark purple.
Hikari is a kidou based zanpaktou using Light.

Released Zanpakuto Description:
Hikaru: This technique is used to distact/blind an opponent by making the blades glow and then shine out a blinding light.
This will temporarily blind the enemy if shot into the eyes. Lasts for 1 post.
Kai: At first, shinzui will alter the light around his enemy, shinzui then unleashes a cutting wave of purple colored reiatsu from his blade. He does so by charging it with reiatsu to the point of it glowing in a bright blue/purple color, then he will make alot of stabbing motions one after the other with the blade and multiple shreds of reiatsu are launched at the desired position. This is actually a projectile attack, shooting small cutting reiatsu waves that carve up whatever it hits. Can only be blocked by a kidou based attack/defense. This fires an amount of 25 shreds of reiatsu, these are doubled at bankai.
Zanzou: Using hikari's most powerfull shikai ability of altering light, he alter's the light in a radius of 25 meter's. He can then move around exactly 2 seconds faster then the one who he casted the ability on would see. Meaning that the one whom he casted the ability on will see him move, but in reality they will see the afterimage, and when they would attack and hit him, they would actually be 2 seconds too late, thus missing him. The technique affects the senses through sight. Once cast, the ability will last for 2 posts.

ps:
The afterimages are only seen by those who are under the effect of zanzou. Those out of the attack's range will just see shinji move normally and those hit by the technique to have very bad timing, or easily said they attack shinji's position 2 seconds too late. Only those hit by zanzou are seeing afterimages.

When hikari enter his shikai, the blade extends for 20 centimeter's in length, the tip of the blade curls a little to give it a larger cutting edge. The sword now has a new thrait, the sword glow's with the color of shinji's reiatsu.

Hikari's true form is that of a young samurai. he looks fierce, though he is actually a nice person and a wise teacher.
He thought shinji alot about his inner power and kidou techniques. He teaches shinji alot about deceiving and how to use his technique's best.

Personality: Hikari is a very wise zanpaktou, he learned shinji that not everything can be dealt with by negotiating.
He also thought him how to surpress his strength and how to use it to strike fear into the hearts of his enemy's.
The thing hikari excelled at was deception and cruelness on the battlefield. towards shinji he is very submissive.
He seems always serene and apathetic towards other people. He is also extremely calm, and is noticably quiet, rarely speaking unless to make his intentions known or make a point. He is noted at being extremely patient and not given to rash actions and disdains it as a flaw in others. He can see the skill or potential in others and what they must do to attain that fullness of that potential. Hikari very rarely shows any sign of distress or surprise.
Despite being a controlled person, he is cold, ruthless, and calculating when fighting. Once he is done fighting, however, he reverts back to normal.

Hikari's realm is a pond filled with koi's. shinji spends alot of time in this realm, training with hikari and learning how to make better use of his ability's. The place is covered with beautifull trees and bushes, it also has high cliff's and green plane's wich are perfect for meditating and training.

History and RP Sample

History:

early life:
When shinji was still alive, he was forced to live on the streets. His family was poor and left him at a forest when he was 7 years old.
Since then, shinji has always taken care of himself by stealing food and clothes. He lived in a stolen tent in thesame woods as where his parents had left him.
Though he knew that noone would come back to pick him up, he still wanted to remain there untill someone came to end his miserable life.
He stole from every bakery, butcher, restaurant, snackhouses and clothing store in the vacinity. Though he didnt like doing so, he knew he had to if he wanted to life.

At the age of ten, shinji lost his tent to a forest fire. Having no place to go, shinji went to an orphinage where he rose to power among the children.
Carrying a stick with him, he beat those who picked on the weaker and protected himself against those who would harm him. After a while, a young couple came to pick him up and take him in into their house.
in the beginning, shinji didnt like them at all, locking himself in his room all day. But after a few weeks, shinji started to like his foster parents.
Though this didnt last long because of a robbery at their house wich cost them their life.

A new beginning:
After getting shot, shinji walked around the city for month's. after a while, shinji couldnt remember his real parents.
And as the months flew by, he couldnt even remember his old life as a 10 year old.
Even though he didnt know anything of his former life, he wasnt bothered by it. He loved the fact that he was no longer bound by things like food, shelter or parents. He loved being care free and went everywhere he wanted without being kicked out by the owner or the police.

Though he didnt get to enjoy it for long, because he was soon to be burried by a shinigami and taken to the rukongai.

Life in rukongai wasnt that hard compared to his former life. He was surrounded by carring people, but also by drunks and brigands.
Many people alwats bragged about their sons being a soul reaper, though shinji didnt think that was such a big deal. It wasnt untill he saw a luitenant shinigami slay a hollow that he started respecting the shinigami. Because he was a little bit of a bigshot when he was younger, he didnt hessitate to ask the shinigami to introduce him to the shinigami academy.

becoming a soul reaper & 4th squad:

When shinji entered the shinigami school, he was tested on his skills as a shinigami. He had extraodinary speed and had alot of reiatsu, but other then that he was no more then the ordinary shinigami.
It wasnt long after that that the monitor's chose to place him at the 4th squad and let him make use of his movement speed and reiatsu on a battlefield so he can heal other's.
At first shinji was happy to be placed in a division so soon, but that was before he found out that the schooling for a 4th squad member took way longer then most other squads.
He didnt like the fact that he wasnt able to be placed among the real fighter's, though this was actually one of the many reasons for him to train harder.
One of the good things was that he was being trained in defensive and offensive kidou technique's. The first days, all he did literally blew up in his face. But after a few days of practice, he started getting the hang of it.

Kendo training and becoming a 7th division member:

Shinji excelled at using kidou and has had an incredible lot of training behind him. Because of his high amounts of reiatsu and his skilled use at kidou, he was placed at the 4th squad's training facility.
They planned on teaching him how to use his skills in order to heal and help other's. Though shinji was willing to help other's, he was aware of the 4th squads reputation and their low ranking among the division's.
He wanted to help other's, but his pride kept him from becoming one of the lower ranking shinigami. But trough it all, he went to the facility to learn about healing kidou. After a few days, shinji was placed back from the 4th squad because of his overwhelming reiatsu.
He didnt have the required mentality to heal other's and was thus placed in the 7th squad. When he entered the 7th squad barrack's, it was far different then the 4th squad. There where lots of strong, skilled men here that where known for their skills in keeping order among the people in soul society.
The 7th squad had alot to offer to shinji, kidou classes, kendo classes and tactics.

After having finished his kidou training in the barracks, he went to kendo classes with a very strict teacher. If there was one thing shinji hated, it was the fact that some people looked down on him.
He had alot of anger in his heart, but he also had alot of compassion, pride and the will to help others. When he first entered the dojo, he bowed before his trainer and thanked him for teaching him the ropes.
The man looked him over and put him in a special class. At first shinji thought he was being placed in a group for exceptional swordsman, while he was actually placed in a class for beginner's. Thinking that it was because of his former 4th squad training, he was infuriated and wanted to be placed in a higher grade of training.
But the trainer wouldnt oblige and told him to step down or he would have to teach him a lesson of dignity. Shinji didnt back down and had to fight against the weakest of the exceptional swordsman.
At first shinji had the upper hand because of his quickness and speed in his strikes, but in the end he was struck down with one well placed blow. It was then that shinji knew why he wasnt placed at a high grade, he just wasnt ready yet.
He accepted the fact that he was still unprepared and apologized to the men and went back to where he belonged, for now.

7th squad luitenant:
Shortly after having prevented a fifth brawl in the rukongai district, shinji was on his way home when he got a strange feeling in his stumach. After passing trough the gate's, a loud alarm sounded in the 7th squad barracks. There was a hollow sighting in the poorest parts of the rukongai. Several shinigami of the 7th squad allready set out towards the beast. Upon arrival, alot of men where severely injured in the fight. It wasnt long after that that he found out what the hollow's power was.
The hollow looked like a flying ball of tentacles that let out spores that where able of taking over corpses. After its rampage in rukongai, the hollow had a large army of nearly 20 corpses.

He knew he had to slay the zombies, but he couldnt strike down his comrades, even if they where just empty husks of their former self. It was only when he saw that theyre faces where mangled and tentacles where pouring out that he knew what he had to do.
It was a matter of seconds untill the corpses would spawn young hollow creature's from their flesh, so shinji had to move fast and decapicate the corpses. After releasing his shikai "hikari", he quickly soared trough the men like a knife trough butter.
Moments later, the other shinigami slew the hollow with their combined power and his hikari. Sending out a burst of reiatsu from his sword, he cut the hollow into pieces and started taking care of the body's, with help from the 7th division.
The next morning, shinji was promoted to vice captain of the 7th squad.

The road to Absolution

Shinji had alot of doubt, hatred and anger in his head because of the stress he got with his newly obtained vice captain ranking. He was afraid to lose men in battle because of his inability to save them.
This led to him thinking he got insane when he started to hear voices. But on one evening at the night guard, he felt his body move on his own while the voice in his head became stronger. He attacked a gaurd on duty and wasnt able to regain control untill the man was dead. This led to him leaving the soul society for a crime he commited but was unable to stop.

He then travelled to the real world where the voice became even stronger, resulting to a hollow mask being formed on his head and him killing multiple shinigami on duty protecting the real world. He eventually found a way to use his reiatsu to supress his inner hollow from time to time. Not long after that, he found a group of people that could grant him a chance of beating his inner demon's and wielding it's strenght.
Though he grabbed to oppurtunity with both hands, he did not care that he might get killed trying, stating that he would rather be dead then to kill another living person against his will.

He then battled the beast inside of him and nearly lost if it was not for hikari, who told him he had to calm down and focus on winning, instead of fighting in fear of losing his body.
He then won using his shikai and got back his body, with extra's.

RP Sample:
It was a dark night in soul society, most honest people had gone to bed by this time, but not shinji. He wasnt allowed to go to bed for he was on a guard duty.
He was sitting on the edge of the watchtower and was looking out over the lands, covered in the shadow's of the night. It was a beautifull things to see, complete darkness with some small lights shining trough windows in the distirct village's.
Shinji then stood up and jumped back into the tower and turned to face his companion on today's guard duty. "Wake me up when we have to change shift's, i have better things to do then sitting and watching".
The man nodded at shinji as he sat down in the corner of the tower and unsheated his sword. He closed his eyes and a minute later, the darkness was shifting into a clear and welcoming sunlight.
As he opened his eyes, he was no longer in the watchtower but in a large pond filled with koi. As he leaned back into the grass, a heavily armored man walked up to the resting shinji.
"You have returned master, what is the matter. Did something happen on guard duty" the man asked shinji.
"Its actually the other way around hikari, nothing happened, and didnt i tell you to call me Shinji ?" shinji said bored while rolling on his side.
Shinji had alot going on lately, he had to prove himself to his captain that he was worthy of filling the void the current vice captain left after he died.
Though he didnt know the previous vice captain at all, he must have had quite the reputation to leave the job open for this many a year.
But trough it all, he was dead set on becoming a vice captain so he could take some of the weight of the captain's shoulder's.
It was not long after that that he was rudely awakened by his companion.
"Shinji-san, we have a problem" the man said while pointing at a large fire with plumes of smoke towering high above the village.
It was unknown to him how things could have gotten this far, but without thinking twice, he jumped down the tower and ran to the village.
Before he arrived, a platoon allready had been deployed to take care of the creature.
"What happened here" shinji asked a man that lay injured on the ground. Though the only thing the man said was that shinji should breathe carefully.
When he looked around, alot of villagers and shinigami alike came walking out of the village.
"What the..." shinji mumbled when the people surrounded him. "Why are they doing this, just in case i'd better be prepared" shinji thought as he took out his sword and pointed it to the sky.
"Burst, Hikari"

i kicked out the kidou and added to the personality's
i also gave a different spin to the zanpaktou ability's.
i added that the zanpaktou is a light/speed based weapon, not lightspeed

Also, you can't have 2 Zanpaktou families, you need to choose one or the other. Plus, there's no such thing as speed based Zanpaktou.
